Dear Colleagues,
Cyclodextrins (CDs) and their derivatives remain at the forefront of intensive scientific research due to their unique ability to form inclusion complexes with a wide range of guest molecules. This Special Issue, titled “Synthesis, Analysis and Applications of Cyclodextrins and Their Derivatives,” aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the latest advancements in the field of cyclodextrin chemistry.
We invite the submission of original research papers and review articles concerning innovative synthetic pathways for new CD derivatives, including selectively modified macrocycles, CD-based polymers, and cyclodextrin-based metal–organic frameworks (CD-MOFs). Particular emphasis will be placed on advanced analytical techniques used to characterize host–guest systems, such as NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, physicochemical measurements, and computational modeling. Furthermore, this Special Issue aims to highlight the versatile applications of cyclodextrins across numerous research fields—including their significant role in fundamental studies—as well as in key sectors such as drug delivery systems, food technology, environmental remediation, and catalysis.
By bridging fundamental synthesis with practical applications, this issue intends to showcase the versatility of cyclodextrins in addressing contemporary challenges in materials science and biotechnology. We encourage authors to submit work that pushes the boundaries of supramolecular chemistry and demonstrates the potential of these bio-based materials in the context of sustainable development.
