Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Modern Knee Surgery has been revolutionary over the last 10 years. There have been numerous advances in the management of OA, such as Preservation Knee Surgery in the form of Regenerative Medicine and focal Osteochondral Replacement Surgery, as well as the application of Artificial Intelligence and Robotic-assisted Reconstruction Surgery of the Knee. In addition, modern techniques have also been described in the management of Complex meniscal and ACL injuries. The application of novel AI techniques in the correction of Knee Alignment deformities through Femoral and Tibial osteotomies is also on the rise

The Scope of this edition is to highlight all these advances in Knee Surgery by promoting the submission of relevant papers to a Special Issue, which will update Knee Surgeons on the described subjects

We will be particularly looking to review papers regarding the following:

  • Novel Approaches in Meniscal Surgery and the role of Meniscal Centralisation;
  • Advanced Personalisation of high tibial osteotomy planning and the role of AI;
  • The future role of AI in Prosthetic Joint Infection management;
  • The efficacy of AI and Robotic Surgery combined with Personalised and Kinematic Alignment techniques in Knee Replacement Surgery.

Current management of Knee OA with Regenerative Medicine infusions and future breakthroughs for more sustainable clinical outcomes.
