Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Functional magnetic nanomaterials and nanocomposites have attracted significant attention due to their unique physicochemical properties and broad spectrum of advanced technological applications. The ability to precisely tailor their size, morphology, surface chemistry, and magnetic behavior enables the development of materials with enhanced performance in diverse fields such as biomedicine, environmental remediation, catalysis, energy conversion and storage, sensing technologies, and information processing. Recent progress in synthesis strategies—including chemical, physical, and green methods—has opened new opportunities for designing multifunctional systems with improved stability, efficiency, and scalability.

This Special Issue aims to provide a comprehensive platform for the dissemination of cutting-edge research on the synthesis, characterization, theoretical modeling, and practical implementation of functional magnetic nanomaterials and nanocomposites. Contributions addressing structure–property relationships, novel fabrication techniques, hybrid and hierarchical architectures, and emerging applications are particularly encouraged. The Issue also welcomes studies focusing on sustainability, biocompatibility, and industrial translation of magnetic nanomaterials. By bringing together interdisciplinary perspectives, this Special Issue seeks to advance the understanding and application of magnetic nanostructured materials in next-generation technologies.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Materials is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
