Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We are delighted to announce a Special Issue entitled "Integrating Bioinformatics and Artificial Intelligence: Transforming Data into Insights for Precision Medicine", to be published in the section Biochemistry, Biophysics, and Computational Biology. The rapid advancement of high-throughput technologies has led to an exponential growth in biological data, presenting both opportunities and challenges in the field of precision medicine. The integration of bioinformatics with artificial intelligence (AI) offers a transformative approach to deciphering complex biological systems, enabling the translation of big data into actionable medical insights.

This Special Issue aims to showcase cutting-edge research that utilizes AI and bioinformatics to advance our understanding of disease mechanisms, enhance diagnostic accuracy, and personalize therapeutic strategies. We welcome the submission of original research articles, reviews, and case studies that explore novel computational methods, machine learning algorithms, and the application of integrative models to genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and other 'omics' data.

The scope of this Special Issue includes, but is not limited to, the following topics:

  • AI-driven biomarker discovery and validation;
  • Machine learning applications in genomics and proteomics;
  • The integration of multi-omics data for disease characterization;
  • Predictive modeling for patient stratification and treatment optimization;
  • Computational drug discovery and repurposing using AI;
  • Deep learning approaches in medical imaging and diagnostics.

We believe that this Special Issue will serve as a valuable platform for researchers and practitioners to share their latest findings and foster collaborations that propel the field forward. The tentative deadline for manuscript submissions is 30 June 2025.

We look forward to receiving your contributions.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Life is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2600 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
