Creating and Sharing Knowledge on Digital Platforms in Education

Dear Colleagues,

The international open access journal Knowledge (ISSN 2673-9585; https://www.mdpi.com/journal/knowledge) is currently running a Special Issue entitled, “Creating and Sharing Knowledge on Digital Platforms in Education”.

Rapid technological developments and the COVID-19 pandemic have resulted in the extensive digitization of many human activities. These technological developments have also led to the widespread dissemination and use of digital education and training platforms to create, share, and transform knowledge. These digital platforms may adopt or choose a different logic and may be addressed to different educational levels (primary, secondary, and tertiary) or different audiences in different educational contexts (formal, non-formal, and informal education). As a result, many different methods exist for creating, sharing, and transforming knowledge.

This Special Issue focuses on digital education platforms and attempts to answer a multitude of questions, starting with their design and architecture, and continuing with issues of utilization, the benefits of their use along with critical considerations, and their future structure to highlight the essential learning and training of learners, and the possible transformation of educational practices. More specifically, the topics covered in this Special Issue will span from learning and content management platforms, knowledge-sharing environments, massive open online courses (MOOCs), and 3D immersive environments to the discussion of meta-education.

As Guest Editor, I would like to welcome you to contribute a high-quality paper to this Special Issue. It can be a full review or an original research article. The deadline for full manuscript submission is 25 November 2023. You may submit your manuscript now, or up until the deadline.

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Knowledge is an international peer-reviewed open access quarterly journal published by MDPI.
