Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Cutaneous fungal infections represent a rapidly evolving global health challenge. They cause significant morbidity, healthcare burdens, and life-altering complications in immunocompromised hosts. They are rarely fatal, but in fragile patients, they may be the first step for successive deep-seated infections.

The Special Issue entitled “Dermatophytes and Cutaneous Fungal Infections” aims to present recent research on any aspect of cutaneous fungal infections.

Some of its focal points include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Fungal pathogenesis and disease control;
  • Epidemiology of cutaneous fungal diseases;
  • Molecular and genetic understanding of related pathogenic fungi and their hosts;
  • Innovations in diagnostic techniques;
  • Development of new antifungal agents.

Reviews, original research, communications, and case reports are all welcome.

Guest Editor
