Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

According to the most recent estimates, one in 8 couples worldwide is affected by infertility. A male factor, alone or together with a female factor, can be recognized in about half of the cases, but in 30-40% of cases infertility remains unexplained. In addition to obvious reproductive consequences, infertility can hide even serious health problems that can negatively affect male well-being. Consequently, knowledge of the pathophysiology of male infertility plays a major role in scientific research. In this regard, the introduction of new genetic investigation techniques (such as next generation sequencing), the evolution of imaging tools, and improved laboratory techniques are valuable tools aimed at encouraging research and improving daily clinical practice.

In this Special Issue, we invite authors to contribute with original research articles, reviews and meta-analyses examining the most up-to-date evidence available on pathogenesis, diagnosis, and treatment of male infertility.
