Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Oral surgery is a continuously advancing field that includes a wide range of procedures, from the management of impacted teeth and oral pathologies to implantology and bone regeneration. Recent developments in surgical techniques, biomaterials, and regenerative approaches have significantly improved treatment outcomes and broadened the indications for surgical intervention, even in challenging clinical contexts such as atrophic jaws or medically compromised patients. Particular attention has been given to approaches to enhancing the predictability of surgical procedures through refined techniques for hard and soft tissue management. Minimally invasive approaches and evidence-based protocols are increasingly contributing to patient-centered care. Digital technologies, including 3D imaging and computer-assisted surgery, have significantly enhanced the precision of treatment planning and the execution of complex procedures, offering a valuable complement to traditional surgical techniques. For this Special Issue, we invite articles focusing on advances and future perspectives in oral surgery. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, dentoalveolar surgery, the management of impacted teeth, implant dentistry, bone and soft tissue reconstruction, oral pathology, the surgical management of peri-implant diseases, and emerging surgical techniques. Contributions highlighting interdisciplinary approaches and clinical innovation are especially welcome.
