Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Cardiovascular disease continues to represent the leading cause of death worldwide, posing major challenges to healthcare systems and emphasizing the need for innovative prevention, diagnosis, risk stratification, and treatment approaches. Over the past decades, remarkable advances in molecular biology have transformed our understanding of cardiovascular pathophysiology, revealing the complex genetic, epigenetic, cellular, and molecular networks that drive disease development and progression. More recently, the rapid emergence of artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and advanced computational technologies has revolutionized cardiovascular research, enabling the integration and interpretation of increasingly complex multi-dimensional datasets generated through genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, imaging, and digital health platforms.
The convergence of molecular sciences and AI-driven analytical tools is creating unprecedented opportunities for discovery, accelerating biomarker identification, uncovering novel therapeutic targets, and facilitating the implementation of precision and personalized cardiovascular medicine. These technologies not only enhance our understanding of disease mechanisms but also reshape clinical decision-making and pave the way toward more accurate prediction, diagnosis, and treatment strategies.
Particular emphasis will be placed on studies leveraging AI, machine learning, and advanced computational methodologies to extract clinically meaningful insights from molecular, imaging, and multimodal cardiovascular datasets, thereby accelerating the translation of scientific discoveries into improved patient outcomes.
This Special Issue aims to provide a comprehensive platform for disseminating cutting-edge research at the interface of molecular cardiovascular science and emerging computational technologies. We welcome original research articles, systematic reviews, and state-of-the-art perspectives addressing fundamental, translational, and clinical aspects of cardiovascular disease. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, molecular mechanisms of disease, genomics-based discoveries, biomarker development, cardiovascular genetics and epigenetics, regenerative and precision medicine, AI-assisted diagnostics and prognostics, computational modeling, digital health applications, and innovative therapeutic approaches. By collating contributions from diverse scientific disciplines, this Special Issue seeks to highlight transformative advances that will shape the future of cardiovascular research and clinical practice.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. International Journal of Molecular Sciences is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. There is an Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal. For details about the APC please see here. Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
