Dear Colleagues,
Plant health is crucial in the yield and product quality of horticultural crops. However, the industry faces severe threats from various diseases and abiotic stresses. In recent years, the application of multi-omics technologies has emerged as a key research focus in this field. These approaches enable in-depth investigations into dynamic changes in leaf and rhizosphere microbial communities, the identification of core dominant microbial taxa, and the elucidation of the mechanisms underlying plant–microbe interactions. Furthermore, multi-omics enables the construction of synthetic microbial communities, which are increasingly used to study their roles in the biocontrol of phytopathogens, the regulation of plant immune responses, and the induction of physiological and biochemical changes in plants. This integrated methodology represents a cutting-edge and promising direction for advancing horticultural crop health research.
This Special Issue will highlight recent advancements and innovative developments in the application of multi-omics technologies and associated biotechnologies to enhance the health of horticultural crops. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:
The diversity and dynamics of rhizosphere and phyllosphere microbiomes;
The identification, mining, and construction of core microbial communities;
Field-scale applications of biocontrol agents for plant disease management;
Effects of genetic modification and the application of nitrogen-fixing bacteria or probiotics on plant-associated microbial composition and health;
The utilization of multi-omics approaches (e.g., genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics) in the regulation and improvement of plant health.
We welcome submissions of original research articles, technical reports, and comprehensive reviews that align with the theme of this Special Issue.

All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process.
