Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
In modern horticulture, the shift towards sustainable and resource-efficient production systems has become an urgent priority. Increasing environmental pressures, including soil degradation, climate change, and rising mineral fertiliser costs, demand innovative approaches that reduce external inputs while maintaining productivity and quality. In this context, recycling organic resources is a key pillar of circular horticulture, enabling the transformation of organic waste streams into valuable soil amendments and nutrient sources.
The purpose of this Special Issue is to promote the dissemination of recent advances and innovative solutions related to the recycling and valorisation of organic resources in horticultural systems. We encourage contributions on topics such as organic amendment management, soil–plant interactions, waste processing technologies, life cycle assessment, and the economic and environmental performance of recycled inputs. Studies addressing policy frameworks, particularly in the context of circular economy strategies and sustainable nutrient management, are also welcome. Furthermore, this Special Issue aims to support the development of resilient, climate-smart horticultural systems aligned with global sustainability goals.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Horticulturae is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
