Dear Colleagues,
Improving vegetable quality has become a key priority in modern horticultural production, driven by increasing consumer demand for nutritious and safe, high-value food products. Cultivation methods such as irrigation management, fertilization strategies, and the use of biostimulants play a fundamental role in shaping crop quality. In parallel, advances in artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technologies are enabling more precise monitoring, analysis, and optimization of crop performance.
This Special Issue aims to provide a platform for research focused on improving vegetable quality through both advanced cultivation methods and emerging AI approaches. It will bridge traditional agronomy, food science, and data-driven methodologies, encouraging interdisciplinary contributions.
We welcome the submission of original research articles, reviews, and short communications addressing topics such as water and nutrient management, biostimulants, crop management strategies, postharvest quality, processing suitability, bioactive compounds, and AI-assisted modeling or prediction. Studies integrating agronomic practices and AI approaches are particularly encouraged, while contributions that focus on either domain independently are also within the scope of this Special Issue.

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Horticulturae is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
