Dear Colleagues,

In the face of escalating climate change and evolving agricultural challenges, vegetable crops are increasingly exposed to a multitude of abiotic and biotic stresses, including drought, salinity, extreme temperatures, heavy metal contamination, and pathogen invasions. These stressors not only impede vegetable growth and development but also pose a significant threat to global food security and agricultural sustainability. Understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying vegetable resilience to stress is crucial for developing innovative strategies to enhance crop tolerance and ensure stable yields. Transcriptomics, as a powerful tool in functional genomics, has revolutionized our ability to decipher the complex gene expression patterns and regulatory networks that govern plant responses to stress. By analyzing the transcriptome, researchers can identify key stress-responsive genes, unravel signaling pathways, and gain insights into the dynamic molecular changes that enable vegetables to adapt and survive under adverse conditions.

This Special Issue titled “Vegetable and Fruit Resilience Under Stress: A Deep Dive into Transcriptomic Responses” aims to present cutting-edge research that leverages transcriptomic approaches to deepen our understanding of vegetable resilience under stress. Innovative articles on the transcriptomic studies related to vegetable resilience under various stress conditions of any vegetable species are welcome in this Special Issue.
