Over its 150-year history, the Institute of Agriculture and Tourism has grown into one of Croatia’s most important research institutions. This anniversary is not only a reminder of the Institute’s historical contributions but also an opportunity to focus on the future—on innovations that will improve food production, protect the environment, and ensure the sustainability of Croatia’s economy. Agriculture and tourism form the backbone of Croatia’s economy, yet while tourism continues to experience steady growth, agriculture faces challenges that demand innovative solutions.
Scientific Conference
This significant 150th anniversary will be marked by a special scientific conference titled “From Science to Innovation for Sustainable Development of Agriculture and Tourism”, to be held on May 8, 2025, at the Diamant Hotel in Poreč. The conference will provide a platform for exchanging ideas and establishing strategic guidelines to foster sustainability in both sectors. As the central event of this year’s celebrations, this conference lays the groundwork for the future work and contributions of the institute, with all stakeholders invited to join in the shared mission of creating a sustainable and prosperous Croatia.
