Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

​Advancing toward carbon neutrality requires a dual effort: accelerating the development of low-carbon fuels and significantly enhancing the efficiency of thermal processes. This Special Issue, "Advanced Sustainable Fuels and Innovative Technologies for Clean Energy Technologies", serves as a dedicated platform for pioneering research at the intersection of fuel science, environmental engineering, and renewable energy deployment. ​We invite high-quality original research and comprehensive reviews focusing on the synthesis, characterization, and utilization of advanced sustainable fuels. The scope particularly emphasizes innovative engineering solutions designed to enhance energy efficiency, mitigate environmental impacts, and integrate renewable sources into existing thermal systems. Specifically, the issue focuses on advanced waste heat recovery, low-emission combustion optimization, biomass valorization, and sustainable industrial and building energy systems. By integrating these interdisciplinary insights, this Special Issue aims to accelerate the deployment of clean energy technologies capable of significantly reducing global carbon footprints.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Fuels is an international peer-reviewed open access quarterly journal published by MDPI.
