What is INFORMATION – how to get, process, code and read it, in the elegant world of mathematical, statistical and quantum physics

International Colloquium "What is INFORMATION – how to get, process, code and read it, in the elegant world of mathematical, statistical and quantum physics”, will be held on 24-25 October 2019 in the Regional Innovation Centre at UTP University of Science and Technology in Bydgoszcz, Poland. This is the fourth edition of the "RCI – Jan Czochralski Innovation and Technology Space” event, the first edition of which took place in 2017. This year’s colloquium will be devoted to the issue of INFORMATION in quantum and entropic systems. There will be presented mathematical and physical methods used to describe phenomena occurring in quantum systems, starting with quantum dots and ending with quantum computers. These solutions are essential for the development of nanosciences, especially nanotechnologies and nanophysics.

The subject matter of the fourth edition of "RCI – Jan Czochralski Innovation and Technology Space” refers to the scientific heritage of outstanding scientists who were born in Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship. They are among them: Albert Abraham Michelson, born 19 December 1852 in Strzelno (Nobel Prize winner in physics, 1907), Jan Czochralski, born 23 October 1885 in Kcynia (he developed a method for the production of high-quality monocrystals, which is still used in the production of electronic components), Walther Hermann Nernst, born 25 June 1864 in Wąbrzeźno (Nobel Prize winner in chemistry, 1920).
