Improving Sustainability: Energy Management in Electrical Transportation

In response to the urgent need for sustainable transportation solutions, MDPI Electronics is proud to announce a Special Issue dedicated to "Improving Sustainability: Energy Management in Electrical Transportation." This Special Issue aims to explore cutting-edge research and innovations in the field of electrical transportation, with a particular focus on energy management strategies to enhance sustainability.

In recent years, electric vehicles (EVs) have gained significant traction as an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional fossil fuel-powered vehicles. However, the widespread adoption of EVs presents unique challenges related to energy management, such as optimizing battery performance, enhancing charging infrastructure, and reducing overall energy consumption. The Special Issue will serve as a platform for researchers, engineers, and practitioners to share their insights and findings in this dynamic and critical area.

Key Themes and Topics:

• Battery Management Systems (BMS): research in this area will delve into advanced BMS techniques that optimize battery health, extend lifespan, and improve overall EV performance.
• Charging Infrastructure: articles will explore developments in charging technologies, including fast-charging stations, wireless charging, and smart grid integration, to ensure convenient and efficient EV charging while minimizing environmental impact.
• Energy Efficiency: contributors will investigate strategies to enhance the energy efficiency of electric vehicles, covering aspects like regenerative braking and powertrain design.
• Renewable Energy Integration: sustainable transportation goes hand in hand with renewable energy sources. The Special Issue will explore innovative approaches to integrating solar, wind, and other renewable energy into the EV ecosystem.
• Electric Mobility Ecosystem: authors will discuss the broader ecosystem surrounding electrical transportation, including vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology, energy storage solutions, and the impact of EV adoption on the grid.

Researchers are invited to contribute their original research articles, reviews, and case studies to this Special Issue. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process.
