Application of Machine Learning in Power Electronics

This special issue belongs to the section “Power Electronics“.

Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The objective of this Special Issue, "Application of Machine Learning in Power Electronics", is to investigate the integration of modern machine learning (ML) methods in the area of power electronics. Machine learning offers effective methods to analyze the complex, non-linear, and dynamic behaviors that are characteristic in power electronic systems. This issue encourages papers that focus on the efficient use of machine learning techniques to improve the design, functioning, and reliability of power electronics applications, such renewable energy systems, electric vehicles, smart grids, power converters, and motor drives. Submissions demonstrating novel methods, modeling, or real applications in industries are especially appreciated.

Topics of interest :

  • Design and optimization: Utilizing ML algorithms for design and optimization of power electronic converters and other electronics components.
  • Control strategies: Developing intelligent control systems with ML for improving performance, stability, and adaptability.
  • Fault detection and diagnosis: Implemented machine learning algorithms for early fault detection, anomaly identification, and system deterioration monitoring.
  • Energy management: Applying machine learning to optimize energy consumption and integrate renewable energy sources.
  • Predictive maintenance: Using machine learning to increase equipment durability.
  • Advanced ML techniques: Applying advanced machine learning techniques such as deep learning, reinforcement learning, and other complex methodologies in the field of power electronics.
  • Simulation and modeling: The application of data-driven modeling and simulation techniques to forecast the behaviors of systems under various conditions.
  • Case studies and applications: Demonstrating practical applications and example methodologies in the power electronics field.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Electronics is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
