Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The rapid evolution in computer science (CS) education demands that teachers continuously develop their skills, adapt to new technologies, and implement effective pedagogical strategies. This Special Issue explores the innovative approaches to professional development that empower educators to excel in CS instruction.
Contributors will examine strategies, including formal teacher training programs, industry partnerships, mentorship models, and self-directed learning opportunities. Emphasis will be placed on ensuring that all educators—regardless of background or access to resources—can effectively teach CS. Additionally, studies on the impact of continuous learning, collaboration, and policy initiatives that address systemic changes that support educator growth are encouraged.
This Special Issue aims to bridge the gap between research and practice, offering evidence-based insights and real-world applications that enhance K-12 CS teaching. By equipping educators with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to navigate the evolving CS landscape, this Special Issue seeks to contribute to a more robust computing education ecosystem.
We invite scholars, practitioners, and policymakers to share their findings, experiences, and innovative approaches to strengthening professional development in CS education, with the ultimate goal of fostering a more prepared and adaptable teaching workforce.
