Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The rapid adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in education, from intelligent tutors to automatic assessment systems and student support chatbots, is transforming the dynamics of teaching and learning. This Special Issue aims to bring together recent research that critically examines the pedagogical, ethical and social impacts of this technological integration. We welcome papers that address, among other aspects, (1) the influence of AI on student autonomy and motivation; (2) the changing role of teachers and pedagogical mediation practices; (3) the challenges of digital literacy and equity of access; (4) implementation experiences in different contexts (primary, secondary, and higher education and continuing education); and (5) innovative methodological proposals and empirical studies, as well as theoretical reviews that clarify trends and gaps. The goal is to foster an academic community capable of critically reflecting on how AI can contribute to education, generating useful evidence for educational policies and researchers.
