Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Quality of life has become one of the most important goals of modern medical practice and research, especially in the context of chronic diseases that significantly impact patients’ daily lives. With increasing life expectancy and advances in diagnostics and treatment, it is essential not only to extend survival, but also to ensure a better quality of life for patients, while supporting their families and caregivers.
This Special Issue will focus on tools and methodologies to assess quality of life, patients’ experiences in accessing healthcare services, and effective interventions designed to enhance overall well-being. We aim to gather multidisciplinary evidence on validated assessment instruments, innovative patient-reported outcome measures, strategies to overcome barriers to care, and programs that have demonstrated impact in improving quality of life for people living with chronic conditions.
We welcome contributions that address both quantitative and qualitative research, clinical trials, systematic reviews, and case studies, with a particular emphasis on patient-centered care and healthcare system responsiveness.
Potential topics include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Development and validation of tools to assess quality of life in chronic diseases;
- Patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) and patient-reported experience measures (PREMs);
- Barriers and facilitators in accessing healthcare services;
- Digital health solutions for quality of life monitoring;
- Multidisciplinary and holistic approaches to patient care;
- Supportive and palliative interventions for chronic disease management;
- Symptom control and self-management strategies;
- Interventions to reduce caregiver burden;
- Health policy and system-level strategies to improve patient experience.
