Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to invite you to contribute to this Special Issue focused on gastrointestinal cancers, summarising actual research and novel diagnostic as well as treatment methods.

Gastrointestinal cancers account for one in three cancer deaths and one in four new cancer cases (approximately 5.26 million in 2021). Over recent years, gastrointestinal cancer has been an emerging field of research and the research outcomes have been translated into  trials, novel diagnostic strategies and treatments. The aim is to diagnose gastrointestinal cancers earlier and to deliver better treatment to cancer patients. This Special Issue will present a collection of new approaches in gastrointestinal cancer research and applications in the medical field, as well as reviews about this fast-moving field based on the advent of personalised treatments and the interplay between bench and bedside. The aim of this Special Issue is to provide an up-to-date overview of research in gastrointestinal cancers as well as novel diagnostic and treatment methods.
