Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce a call for submissions to a Special Issue of Cancers focusing on the topic of “Innovations in Cutaneous Oncology and Dermatologic Surgery: Translating Mechanisms into Practice”. The field of dermatologic oncology is undergoing a rapid transformation, driven by discoveries at the molecular level and innovations in therapeutic modalities. This Special Issue aims to capture the current momentum and provide a platform for disseminating cutting-edge research that bridges laboratory findings with clinical application.

Advances in molecular oncology, immunotherapy, and precision surgery are redefining the landscape of cutaneous malignancies. This Special Issue explores the translational interface between basic mechanisms and clinical innovation in dermatologic oncology and surgery. Emphasis will be placed on molecular pathways driving tumor behavior, micrographic and reconstructive surgical techniques, immune-based and targeted therapies, and digital technologies enhancing diagnosis and outcomes. By integrating mechanistic and procedural perspectives, this collection aims to foster multidisciplinary collaboration, promote individualized treatment approaches, and highlight new directions in the prevention, diagnosis, and management of skin cancer.

To build a comprehensive discussion around these themes, we invite the submission of original research articles and high-quality review papers. All submitted manuscripts will undergo a rigorous peer-review process to ensure the publication of scientifically sound and impactful research. We believe that your valuable contributions will be instrumental in creating a timely and authoritative resource for clinicians, surgeons, and researchers dedicated to advancing the care of patients with cutaneous malignancies.

Should you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact the editorial office.

We look forward to receiving your innovative work.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Cancers is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2900 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
