Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Thoracic cancers, including lung cancer, thymic malignancies, and mesothelioma, remain among the most challenging diseases to treat worldwide. Surgery continues to play a central role in the multimodal management of these malignancies, yet practice is rapidly evolving in response to advances in minimally invasive and robotic techniques, the integration of immunotherapy and targeted therapies, and the emergence of new biomarkers to guide treatment. In this Special Issue of Cancers, entitled “Surgery for Thoracic Cancer”, we aim to highlight contemporary surgical approaches, clinical outcomes, and translational advances that are reshaping the field. We welcome contributions covering a wide spectrum of topics, including novel operative strategies, perioperative management, surgical indications in the immunotherapy era, comparative effectiveness of surgical techniques, and future directions such as organ-sparing procedures and enhanced recovery. Both original research and comprehensive reviews are encouraged. By gathering global expertise, this Special Issue seeks to provide a platform to define current standards, share innovations, and guide future clinical practice in the surgical management of thoracic cancers.
