Dear Colleagues,
Head and neck cancer is characterized by substantial biological heterogeneity, underscoring the need for robust biomarkers to improve disease stratification and clinical decision-making. Emerging microbiome studies, together with molecular and multi-omics profiling, are reshaping our understanding of tumor biology and revealing clinically relevant signatures for diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment response. This Special Issue will focus on the discovery, validation, and translational application of biomarkers in head and neck cancer, with particular emphasis on microbiome-associated and molecular signatures supported by well-characterized clinical cohorts. Studies integrating artificial intelligence and computational methods with imaging, molecular, microbiome, or clinical data are also encouraged, particularly when these approaches facilitate biomarker development and clinical translation. The overall goal of this Special Issue is to connect biological discovery with precision diagnosis, risk stratification, and individualized management in head and neck cancer.
