Dear Colleagues,
Central nervous system (CNS) tumors remain among the most complex and challenging diseases in oncology, requiring highly specialized multidisciplinary care and precision-driven therapeutic strategies. Over the past decade, major advances in imaging technologies and radiation treatment techniques have significantly transformed the field of neuro-oncology. Emerging imaging modalities now enable improved tumor characterization, more accurate target delineation, earlier response assessment, and enhanced differentiation between treatment effect and disease progression. Simultaneously, modern radiotherapy techniques continue to improve conformality, facilitate adaptive and biologically guided treatment approaches, and reduce toxicity while preserving neurologic function and quality of life.
We are pleased to invite you to contribute to the Special Issue entitled “Emerging Imaging and Radiotherapy Techniques for CNS Tumors” in Cancers.
This Special Issue aims to highlight innovative developments in advanced imaging, precision radiotherapy, and translational neuro-oncology research related to primary and metastatic CNS tumors. The scope of this issue encompasses both technological advances and their clinical applications, with particular emphasis on imaging-guided radiation oncology and personalized treatment strategies.
In this Special Issue, original research articles and reviews are welcome. Areas of interest include advanced MRI techniques, functional neuroimaging, amino acid PET and molecular imaging applications, as well as DOTATATE imaging and theranostic approaches in neuro-oncology. We also welcome submissions focusing on radiomics, radiogenomics, artificial intelligence applications, imaging biomarkers, and advanced response assessment strategies. Additional topics of interest include adaptive and MR-guided radiotherapy, stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), proton therapy, FLASH radiotherapy, boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT), and re-irradiation approaches for CNS tumors. Manuscripts exploring cognitive-sparing and connectomics-guided radiotherapy, biologically guided and personalized radiation treatment strategies, and translational or multidisciplinary neuro-oncology research are also encouraged.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process.
