Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Head and neck cancer resection and reconstruction remain fundamental to achieving oncologic control while preserving speech, swallowing, and appearance. Recent advances in surgical techniques, microvascular free flap reconstruction, perioperative management, and multidisciplinary care have significantly improved patient outcomes. Nevertheless, important challenges remain, including functional impairment, treatment-related morbidity, and the management of elderly or medically complex patients. The purpose of this Special Issue is to highlight current progress in tumor resection, reconstructive strategies, and perioperative optimization in head and neck oncology. We welcome original research and review articles addressing innovative surgical approaches, functional rehabilitation, imaging, and translational research that support personalized care. Manuscripts should be submitted by 31 August 2026 to contribute to this focused collection.
