Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer-related mortality worldwide. Although surgery, radiotherapy, systemic therapy, and immunotherapy continue to evolve, a substantial proportion of patients are not candidates for surgical resection due to limited pulmonary reserve, comorbidities, advanced age, or multifocal disease. Image-guided tumor ablation has emerged as a minimally invasive and organ-preserving therapeutic option for patients with early-stage primary lung cancer, oligometastatic disease, or local recurrence.
This Special Issue, “Ablation in Lung Cancer”, aims to provide a comprehensive overview of current and emerging ablation techniques, including radiofrequency ablation, microwave ablation, cryoablation, and irreversible electroporation. We welcome original research articles, reviews, and technical reports addressing patient selection, imaging guidance, treatment planning, combination strategies with systemic or radiation therapies, oncologic outcomes, safety profiles, and future technological innovations. By bringing together multidisciplinary perspectives, this Special Issue seeks to clarify the evolving role of ablation in lung cancer management and to define evidence-based strategies for optimizing patient outcomes.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Cancers is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
