Dear Colleagues,
This Special Issue explores the crucial questions of coral physiological plasticity and environmental adaptability. We seek original research and reviews that explore the mechanisms, from molecular to organismal levels, underpinning how coral hosts and their symbiotic partners respond to stressors such as warming and acidification. By deciphering these intrinsic biological processes, this Special Issue aims to reveal the potential and limits of coral resilience, providing a foundational framework for forecasting reef futures and informing innovative conservation strategies.

Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Biology is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
