Personalized Medical Care

Section Information

Aim

The “Personalized Medical Care" Section of the Journal of Personalized Medicine welcomes high-quality research, review articles, and short communications on all aspects of personalized medical care. Topics of interest range from personalized genomic and precision medicine to clinically driven personalized medicine using neuroimaging, wearable sensors, and biofluid markers as potential enablers. We also consider relevant pharmacogenetic papers, where pharmacogenetics is utilized to cultivate individualized care for patients.

Scope

Key areas of coverage for rapid publications include the following:

  • Effects of genetic or genomic medicine on the treatment and prevention of disorders or the identification of “at risk” individuals.
  • The use of wearable sensors and or other device-aided technology to promote specific personalized care in chronic long-term and acute conditions.
  • The use of data- or hypothesis-driven clinical subtyping to deliver subtype-specific care in chronic long-term conditions.
  • The identification of novel genomics targets for drug development.
  • Companion diagnostics to facilitate personalized care.
  • Basic science molecular biology, pharmacology, toxicology, and biochemistry focusing on bench-to-bedside work on personalized care.

This Section seeks to compile articles on various aspects of biomedical research and science that pertain to personalized medicine, including clinical pharmacology, genetics and genomics, molecular biology, pharmacology and toxicology, biochemistry, epidemiology, and bioinformatics.
