Cover Story: Aniline is one of the most representative molecules of the intrinsic polarity of chemistry: the first artificial dyes were obtained from it, with a decisive push towards the industrial revolution but also with negative repercussions on the health of workers. It has exerted a great influence on fashion and art, becoming the symbol of an era of great innovations, but also of contradictions and social conflicts. Today, it still plays a key role in various sectors, including the production of inks, the synthesis of drugs, and the design of smart textiles.
