Cover Story: There is great potential for exploration in the field of machine learning applied to two-part ratemaking models. The dataset obtained from the Casualty Actuary Society is a great opportunity for exploring these methods, and we have seen significant improvements in classic generalized models in our results. Additionally, using machine learning during ratemaking is potentially feasible due to the mSHAP algorithm, which explains the predictions of two-part models and allows for transparency in insurance pricing. View this paper
