Cover Story: In the following paper, the advancement of Automated Compliance Checking (ACC) using Semantic Web technologies is explored, specifically SHACL-SPARQL rules on RDF data. Focusing on the RDF format, it enhances the capabilities of traditional ACC systems, particularly in handling complex temporal and aggregate legal requirements. Through a case study of Ghana’s LI 2204 regulation on local content in the petroleum industry, the research presented in this paper demonstrates how these enhanced ACC methods offer more accurate and efficient compliance enforcement. The study highlights the potential for improved legal reasoning and promotes the adoption of standardized, interoperable solutions. View this paper
