Cover Story: In this study, agrivoltaics were integrated with rice paddies to increase the penetration of photovoltaics in Japan. As rice serves as a staple crop, different parameters were monitored and analyzed in the experimental area: meteorological analysis (solar radiation, shading rate and temperature); fertilizer application; quantitative and qualitative analysis (crop sampling and yield); correlation between shading and rice productivity; electricity generation analysis with agrivoltaics.
