Cover Story: Variation in the transcriptional activity of DNA fibres has been hypothesized to promote their self-organization in the cell's nucleus. We model the activity as stronger-than-thermal fluctuations and study the non-equilibrium phase separation of active–passive polymer mixtures. Examining the non-equilibrium steady states reveals analogies with equilibrium phase-separated polymer mixtures. We point out interesting observations that indicate general principles behind the non-equilibrium phase transition. View this paper

A semiquantum key distribution (SQKD) protocol makes it possible for a quantum party and a classical party to generate a secret shared key. However, many existing SQKD protocols are not experimentally feasible in a secure way using current technology...

Among neural disorders related to movement, essential tremor has the highest prevalence; in fact, it is twenty times more common than Parkinson’s disease. The drawing of the Archimedes’ spiral is the gold standard test to distinguish betw...

In this paper, we propose a fractional map based on the integer-order unified map. The chaotic behavior of the proposed map is analyzed by means of bifurcations plots, and experimental bounds are placed on the parameters and fractional order. Differe...

In this paper, a novel method is proposed to design a free final time input signal, which is then used in the robust system identification process. The solution of the constrained optimal input design problem is based on the minimization of an extra...
