Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The theories of general relativity and quantum mechanics stand among the most remarkable scientific and intellectual achievements of the past two centuries. Yet, despite their profound importance, they appear fundamentally incompatible in many respects. Over recent decades, significant efforts have been devoted to developing a unifying theory that transcends both frameworks.
This Special Issue aspires to contribute meaningfully to this endeavor by showcasing a range of theoretical physics proposals. It will highlight various applications within cosmology and gravitation, such as exploring the origins of the universe and space-time, unraveling the mysteries of dark energy and dark matter, analyzing primordial gravitational waves, and studying supermassive and primordial black holes, Hawking radiation, and cosmic strings.
In this context, we invite the community of theoretical physicists and applied mathematicians to participate in this Special Issue. Our goal is to provide a comprehensive synthesis of the current state of research in this fundamental field. By uniting diverse perspectives and insights, this Special Issue seeks to serve as a valuable resource, advancing our understanding and fostering collaboration across the scientific community.

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Universe is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
