As artificial intelligence (AI) technology becomes increasingly widespread in organizations, its impact on individual employees’ psychology and behavior has garnered growing attention. Existing research primarily focuses on AI’s effects on organizational performance and job design, with limited exploration of its mechanisms influencing individual employees, particularly in the critical area of risk-taking behavior, which is essential to organizational innovation. This research develops a moderated mediation model grounded in social cognitive theory (SCT) to explore how AI usage affects the willingness to take risks. A three-wave longitudinal study collected and statistically analyzed data from 442 participants. The findings reveal that (1) AI usage significantly enhances employees’ willingness to take risks; (2) self-efficacy serves as a partial mediator in the connection between AI usage and the willingness to take risks; and (3) learning goal orientation moderates both the relationship between AI usage and self-efficacy, as well as the mediating effect. This research enhances our understanding of AI’s impact on organizational behavior and provides valuable insights for human resource management in the AI era. Full article

Small news media organizations are increasingly reshaping the news media system in Latin America. They are stepping into the role of watchdogs by investigating issues such as corruption scandals that larger outlets sometimes overlook. However, this journalistic work exposes both journalists and their organizations to a range of security threats, including physical violence, legal pressure, and digital attacks. In response, these outlets have developed coping strategies to manage and mitigate such risks. This article presents an exploratory study of the approaches adopted to protect information and data, ensure the safety and well-being of journalists, and maintain organizational continuity. Based on a series of in-depth interviews with leaders of award-winning news organizations for their investigative reporting, the study examines a shift from a competitive newsroom model to a collaborative approach in which information is shared—sometimes across borders—to support investigative reporting and strengthen security practices. We identify strategies implemented by small news organizations to safeguard their journalistic work and propose an integrative model of news safety encompassing the following three areas of security: physical, legal, and digital. This study contributes to the development of the newsafety framework and sheds light on safety practices that support media freedom. Full article

In today’s rapidly evolving organizations, talent management plays a critical role in driving sustainable growth. Talents, particularly those exhibiting leadership potential, are often seen as essential assets for organizational development. However, the presence of high employee’s leadership potential can also generate adverse emotional reactions from leaders, potentially leading to behaviors such as leader jealousy and leader ostracism. This study investigates the dark side of employee’s leadership potential by examining the mechanisms through which employee’s leadership potential influences leader ostracism, with leader jealousy acting as a mediator. Drawing on social comparison theory, we propose a theoretical model that includes organizational competitive climate and leader’s core self-evaluation as moderating factors. Using a three-wave survey of 672 leaders in the Chinese construction industry, hierarchical regression analysis was employed to test the hypotheses. The results show that employee’s leadership potential significantly increases both leader jealousy and leader ostracism, with leader jealousy serving as a mediator. Moreover, a high organizational competitive climate strengthens the relationship between employee’s leadership potential and leader jealousy, thereby enhancing the entire mediated effect. In contrast, high leader core self-evaluation weakens the relationship between employee’s leadership potential and leader jealousy, reducing the likelihood of leader ostracism and attenuating the mediated effect. This study provides both theoretical contributions and practical insights for organizations seeking to manage high-leadership potential employees while minimizing the risk of negative leadership behaviors. Healthcare supply chain management operates amid fluctuating patient demand, rapidly advancing biotechnologies, and unpredictable supply disruptions pose high risks and create an imperative for sustainable resource optimization. This study investigates the underlying mechanisms through which digital intelligence drives strategic decision optimization in healthcare supply chains. Drawing on the Resource-Based View and Dynamic Capabilities Theory, we develop a chain-mediated model, defined as the multistage indirect path whereby digital intelligence first bolsters innovation capability, which then activates supply chain resilience (absorptive, response, and restorative capability), to improve decision optimization. Data were collected from 360 managerial-level respondents working in healthcare supply chain organizations in China, and the proposed model was tested using structural equation modeling. The results indicate that digital intelligence enhances innovation capability, which in turn activates all three dimensions of resilience, producing a synergistic effect that promotes sustained decision optimization. However, the direct effect of digital intelligence on decision optimization was not statistically significant, suggesting that its impact is primarily mediated through organizational capabilities, particularly supply chain resilience. Practically, the findings suggest that in the process of deploying digital intelligence systems and platforms, healthcare organizations should embed technological advantages into organizational processes, emergency response mechanisms, and collaborative operations, so that digitalization moves beyond the technical system level and is truly internalized as organizational innovation capability and resilience, thereby leading to sustained improvement in decision-making performance. This study aims to critically analyze the theoretical and practical contributions of recent literature on the Critical Chain Project Management (CCPM) method in multi-project environments. To this end, a systematic literature review (SLR) was conducted based on 62 studies indexed in the Scopus and Web of Science databases between 2014 and 2025. The articles were analyzed in terms of application domains, employed methods, obtained results, and proposed integrations with other approaches. Most studies used modeling and simulation, focusing on time reduction, risk mitigation, and cost optimization. A growing trend has been identified toward integrating CCPM with methodologies, such as Scrum, BIM, Lean Construction, Fuzzy FMEA, and predictive algorithms, thereby broadening its applicability in high-complexity scenarios. However, a significant gap remains in empirical studies applied to Engineer-to-Order (ETO) systems and service-based organizations, which are characterized by high customization, variability, and interdependence of resources. The research is justified by the need to consolidate accumulated knowledge on CCPM and to guide future investigations toward underexplored sectors. The findings strengthen the theoretical robustness of the method while indicating concrete opportunities for empirical validation in real-world organizational settings. Full article

Despite growing scholarly interest in digital transformation, few studies have systematically explored the mechanisms linking digital transformation capability to firm performance. This study examines both the direct and indirect effects of digital transformation capability on firm performance, offering novel insights by incorporating organizational strategic intuition and digital leadership as mediating variables. These mediators align with the emerging emphasis on strategic risk management in the literature. A survey was conducted among 620 high-tech enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta using a structured questionnaire. The data were analyzed using SPSS 23.0 for descriptive and correlational statistics, SmartPLS 4.0 for structural equation modeling (SEM), and PROCESS 4.2 for mediation analysis. The results reveal a significant direct effect of digital transformation capability on firm performance. Mediation analysis further shows that organizational strategic intuition and digital leadership each significantly mediate this relationship, and a chain mediation pathway involving both variables is also confirmed. These findings deepen our understanding of how digital transformation capability drives performance outcomes and offer practical guidance for high-tech firms seeking sustainable competitive advantages in dynamic digital environments. This study advances the theoretical discourse by clarifying the pathways through which digital transformation capability affects firm performance and provides empirical evidence to inform strategic decision-making in high-tech management. The construction industry is moving towards the era of industry 4.0; 5.0 with Building Information Modelling (BIM) as the tool gaining significant traction owing to its inherent advantages such as enhancing construction design, process and data management. However, the integration of BIM presents risks that are often overlooked in project implementation. This study aims to develop a novel amalgamated dimensional factor (Techno-organizational Aspect) that is set out to identify and align appropriate management strategies to these risks. Firstly, it encompasses an in-depth analysis of BIM and risk management, through an integrative review approach. The study utilizes an exploratory-based review centered around journal articles and conference papers sourced from Scopus and Google Scholar. Then processed using NVivo 12 Pro software to categorise risks through thematic analysis, resulting in a comprehensive Risk Breakdown Structure (RBS). Then qualitative content analysis was employed to identify and develop management strategies. Further data collection via online survey was crucial for closing the research gap identified. The analysis by mixed method research enabled to determine the risk severity via the quantitative approach using SPSS (version 29), while the qualitative approach linked management strategies to the risk factors. The findings accentuate the crucial linkages of key strategies such as version control system that controls BIM data repository transactions to mitigate challenges controlling transactions in multi-model collaborative environment. The study extends into underexplored amalgamated domains (techno-organisational spectrum). Therefore, a significant contribution to bridging the existing research gap in understanding the intricate relationship between BIM implementation risks and effective management strategies. Background/Objectives: Generating real-world data on the efficacy of multidisciplinary care in cardiometabolic risk management is essential to ensure that guidelines are both applicable and effective, especially in public healthcare settings, where organizational structures may impede healthcare professionals’ agility. This study aimed to generate data on patient follow-up and cardiometabolic risk management during the early years of a public university family medicine group in Québec (Canada) that provides multidisciplinary care to adults with cardiometabolic conditions, in order to evaluate the implementation and effectiveness of its care model. Methods: This was a retrospective longitudinal study. Patients treated at the clinic from 31 January 2020 (clinic opening) to 8 May 2024 (n = 96) were invited to consent to the use of their medical data for research. Results: A total of 52 patients consented and were included in the study. Upon entry at the clinic, >90% of patients had anthropometry and blood pressure (BP) measured, but plasma glucose and lipids were assessed among 50% and 79% of patients, respectively. A total of 36 patients completed the personalized multidisciplinary care program. No evidence of associations between the total number of appointments or appointments with the registered dietitian specifically with changes in BMI, waist circumference, and BP was found. However, each pharmaceutical intervention was associated with a −0.51 cm (95%CI: −1.03, 0.02; p = 0.06) change in waist circumference and a −1.49 mm Hg (95%CI: −2.56, −0.43, p = 0.01) change in diastolic BP. Conclusions: These data highlight the challenges of implementing a research-oriented clinic within Québec’s public healthcare system. Full article

This paper provides a comparative review of digital and human (face-to-face) innovation platforms and their roles in promoting innovation and sustainability. These platforms are particularly significant in advancing sustainability objectives as outlined in Sustainable Development Goal 17, (SDG17) which emphasizes the importance of knowledge and technology partnerships to address sustainability challenges, foster innovation, and enhance scientific collaboration. Through a systematic literature review of organizational and management research over the past decade, the study identifies key features, benefits, and limitations of each platform type. Digital platforms offer scalability, asynchronous collaboration, and data-driven innovation, yet face challenges such as trust deficits, cybersecurity risks, and digital inequality. In contrast, human (face-to-face) platforms facilitate trust, emotional communication, and spontaneous idea generation, but are limited in scalability and resource efficiency. By categorizing insights into thematic tables and evaluating implications for organizations, the paper highlights how the integration of both platform types can optimize innovation outcomes. The authors argue that hybrid models—combining the scalability and efficiency of digital platforms with the relational depth of human (face-to-face) platforms—offer a promising path toward sustainable innovation ecosystems. The paper concludes with a call for future empirical research on platform integration strategies and sector-specific applications. Full article

Building Information Modeling (BIM) is an emerging information technology tool and management concept in the construction industry, enabling the transition from traditional 2D drawings to 3D models. It helps improve efficiency and promote industrial upgrading in the construction sector. However, in actual project practices, the effectiveness of BIM application has not been as expected, and the return on investment (ROI) may even be negative. Through a literature review, we found that risk identification, correlation analysis, and risk assessment related to BIM implementation require further research. To better promote the application of BIM in the construction industry, this study employs relevant methods to analyze the risk factors of BIM implementation. Through the literature review, 31 BIM implementation risk factors were identified, and 24 major risk factors were extracted using the AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) method. The ISM (Interpretative Structural Modeling) method was then used to determine the interrelationships among these major risk factors, establishing a hierarchical model with seven levels. Through MICMAC (Matrices Impacts Corises-Multiplication Appliance Classment) analysis, the BIM implementation risk factors were categorized into three groups, and three-tiered response strategies were proposed at the industry, organizational, and project levels. By analyzing the main risk factors of BIM application in China’s construction industry and formulating corresponding response strategies to promote its successful application, this study contributes to the knowledge system. The findings also provide a reference for other countries and regions to clarify major risk factors and their interrelationships, thereby improving the effectiveness of BIM implementation. The modern workplace grapples with a human energy crisis, characterized by chronic exhaustion, disengagement, and emotional depletion among employees. Traditional well-being initiatives often fail to address this systemic challenge, particularly in industrial contexts. This study introduces the Human Energy Management System (HEMS), a strategic framework to develop, implement, and refine strategies for optimizing workforce energy. Grounded in Industry 5.0’s human-centric, resilient, and sustainable principles, HEMS integrates enterprise risk management (ERM), design thinking, and the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle. Employing a qualitative Design Science Research (DSR) methodology, the study reframes human energy depletion as an organizational risk, providing a proactive, empathetic, and iterative approach to mitigate workplace stressors. The HEMS framework is developed and evaluated through theoretical modeling, literature benchmarking, and secondary case studies, rather than empirical testing, aligning with DSR’s focus on conceptual validation. Findings suggest HEMS offers a robust tool to operationalize human energy reinforcement strategies in industrial settings. Consistent with the European Union’s vision for human-centric industrial transformation, HEMS enables organizations to foster a resilient, engaged, and thriving workforce in both stable and challenging times. Today, companies face complexities and uncertainties that make it difficult to manage various risks. One of the important tools for achieving success in water supply projects is the proper implementation of risk management processes and activities throughout the project’s make-span. Risk identification and assessment are two important steps in project risk management. In this research, the Fuzzy DEMATEL and Fuzzy ANP as well as Artificial Neural Network methods are exploited for the analyzing and ranking of environmental risks of water supply projects. Risks are classified and then prioritized by the Fuzzy ANP and Artificial Neural Network methods into four main categories, including technical, organizational, project management, and external risks. The weight of each of the technical, organizational, project management, and external risks using the ANP method was obtained as 0.31, 0.26, 0.25, and 0.18, respectively, and the following weights were obtained using the Artificial Neural Network: 0.42, 0.27, 0.22, and 0.09, respectively. The results show that although the exact weights differed between methods, especially for technical and external risks, the overall prioritization of risk categories followed a broadly consistent pattern. In addition, the risk associated with the suppliers obtained the highest weight among the external risks; the risk associated with the high cost of materials gained the highest weight among the organizational risks; the risk associated with the requirements acquired the highest weight among the technical risks; and finally, the risk associated with communication achieved the highest weight among the project management risks. The method presented in this research helps project managers and decision-makers in the water supply industry to make a better and more realistic risk assessment by considering the mutual effects of project risks. The global port and maritime industry is experiencing a new paradigm shift known as the artificial intelligence transformation (AX). Thus, domestic container-terminal companies should focus beyond mere automation to a paradigm shift in AI that encompasses operational strategy, organizational structure, system, and human resource management. This study proposes a resilience-based AX strategy and implementation system that allows domestic container-terminal companies to proactively respond to the upcoming changes in the global supply chain, thus securing sustainable competitiveness. In particular, we aim to design an AI-based governance model to establish a trust-based logistics supply chain (trust value chain). As a research method, the core risk factors of AX processes were scientifically identified via text-mining and fault-tree analysis, and a step-by-step execution strategy was established by applying a backcasting technique based on scenario planning. Additionally, by integrating social control theory with new governance theory, we designed a flexible, adaptable, and resilience-oriented AI governance system. The results of this study suggest that the AI paradigm shift should be promoted by enhancing the risk resilience, trust, and recovery of organizations. By suggesting AX strategies and policy as well as institutional improvement directions that embed resilience to secure the sustainable competitiveness of AI-based smart ports in Korea, this study serves as a basis for establishing strategies for the domestic container-terminal industry and for constructing a global leading model. Leadership and Mediation Approaches for Social Cohesion in the Greek Public Sector

This study investigates how inclusive leadership, mentorship, and digital tools shape conflict prevention and social cohesion within the Greek public sector. Employing a cross-sectional quantitative design, data were collected from 203 employees across municipalities, ministries, regional, and decentralized administrations. The survey instrument captured four dimensions: leadership and mediation for social cohesion, mentorship for the empowerment of vulnerable groups, use of digital tools, and the perceived social impact of inadequate conflict management. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to test direct and indirect effects, evaluate the explanatory and predictive power of the model, and explore the mediation mechanisms linking leadership, mentorship, and digital tools to social cohesion. The results demonstrate that both leadership and mentorship are positively perceived and significantly interrelated, jointly enhancing workplace cohesion and trust. Mentorship emerged as a critical predictor of digital tool adoption, highlighting its role as a bridge for digital inclusion and organizational innovation. In contrast, digital tools, despite their high importance in the model, remain underutilized and require further investment in training and integration. Poor conflict management is perceived as a major organizational risk, strongly linked to increased stress, diminished trust, and a deteriorated workplace climate. These findings highlight the value of integrating mentorship and inclusive leadership with mediation and digital technologies, supporting the development of hybrid strategies for conflict management. The study enriches theoretical debates on organizational resilience and social cohesion, while offering practical recommendations for modernizing public administration through participatory leadership, targeted mentoring programs, and the thoughtful adoption of digital solutions. This study proposes a predictive framework that integrates machine learning techniques with Transactional Net Promoter Score (tNPS) data to enhance sustainable Human Resource management. A synthetically generated dataset, simulating real-world employee feedback across divisions and departments, was used to classify employee performance and engagement levels. Six machine learning models such as XGBoost, TabNet, Random Forest, Support Vector Machines, K-Nearest Neighbors, and Neural Architecture Search were applied to predict high-performing and at-risk employees. XGBoost achieved the highest accuracy and robustness across key performance metrics, including precision, recall, and F1-score. The findings demonstrate the potential of combining real-time sentiment data with predictive analytics to support proactive HR strategies. By enabling early intervention, data-driven workforce planning, and continuous performance monitoring, the proposed framework contributes to long-term employee satisfaction, talent retention, and organizational resilience, aligning with sustainable development goals in human capital management.
