Urban Economy and Industry focuses on the economic structure and industrial development within urban areas. It explores how cities function as economic engines, examining the interactions between different industries, the allocation of resources, and the impact of urban policies on economic activities.
In the current context of global economic transformation, the research emphasis lies in promoting innovation-driven development and industrial upgrading. With the rise of the digital economy and the increasing importance of knowledge-based industries, cities are striving to enhance their competitiveness by fostering high-tech and creative industries.
This section of the journal mainly focuses on a variety of topics. These include urban industrial layout and agglomeration, urban economic growth and development models, urban innovation systems and entrepreneurship, and the relationship between urban industries and employment.
We welcome submissions from related fields such as urban economics, industrial economics, regional science, and economic geography. Whether it is research on the development trends of urban industries, the evaluation of urban economic policies, or case-study-based analyses of successful urban economic transformation projects, high-quality papers that contribute to the understanding and development of urban economy and industry are highly welcomed.
