Symmetry in Mathematical Cosmology

Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

The latest observational data coming from the Planck satellite indicate major challenges for theoretical cosmologists, since the inflationary era and the late-time era are considerably constrained. Modern cosmology is in quest of a correct theoretical description for the early and the late-time era, which both correspond to an accelerating Universe. However, the case at hand is much more complicated, since the correct description must provide a unified framework that will accurately describe both the inflationary era and the late-time era, in the same theoretical framework. In addition, this mathematical cosmological description will describe the intermediate eras, namely, the radiation and matter domination era, and should provide a way to explain a smooth transition between all the evolutionary eras of our Universe. These tasks are a major challenge; therefore, theoretical cosmologists should find a correct and accurate mathematical model to describe the evolution of the Universe. Many theories provide accurate descriptions for the evolution of our Universe, and this Special Issue is devoted to these theoretical models.

We aim to publish theoretical papers in the context of modified gravity, cosmological fluid theories, coupled cosmological fluid theories, and also any other potentially viable mathematical model that provides a qualitatively correct description of our current perception of how the Universe evolves. Experts in all fields of mathematical cosmology are cordially invited to contribute their work related to one of the above disciplines.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Symmetry is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
