Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Sustainable agricultural practices are crucial for targeting adaptation to climate change. The proposed solutions to climate change resilience currently include regenerative or organic farming and eco-innovations that enable us to address the challenges that arise in the agricultural sector and the food security system. These emerging environmental realities entail an urgent need for sustainably managing natural resources and optimizing the current models of agriculture. Considering the increasing unpredictability of crop yield, issues relevant to water resource management and effective wastewater treatment methods have also arisen.
Under the perspective of new agronomic and environmental challenges, new research trends are being developed that focus on innovative technologies and practices, as well as concepts that could change the current perception of agriculture. In this respect, questions around how to produce food by environmentally friendly, ethical, efficient, and climate-resilient methods should be addressed.
For this Special Issue, we welcome interdisciplinary research based on scientific approaches to the important problems of sustainable agriculture and plant science, in terms of global climate changing, including the following: laboratory experiments; new theories and methods within plant science and innovative products and technologies; designing and modeling processes for sustainable crop production; development and environment management; case studies; and field experiments that examine critical approaches to the sustainable valorization of eco-compatible products and methods.
This Special Issue aims to identify scientific approaches to the important problem of agriculture and environment sustainable development, which has a significant impact on the global population. We aim to identify both the benefits and the challenges of an agronomical, environmental, and ecological nature that determine the sustainable development of agriculture. Therefore, we encourage researchers dealing with natural, technical, or technological issues, as well as engineers, decision makers, and practitioners, to submit their work to this Special Issue.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Sustainability is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
