Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Emergent pollutants, particularly nano-pollutants, are widespread environmental contaminants with significant negative effects on the environment and living organisms. Many nanotechnology-derived products lack sufficient life cycle and toxicological risk assessments, complicating disposal and increasing the risk of persistent pollution. Nanomaterials (NMs) possess unique properties (composition, size, shape, surface, concentration, aging) that benefit performance but may also cause environmental harm. Monitoring and quantifying nano-pollutants are challenging due to these complex and variable properties.

The negative effects, such as impaired growth and genetic alterations, of emergent nano-pollutants on living organisms exposed to them are under investigation. These environmental pollutants may be linked to chronic diseases. Due to their biological and environmental harms, sustainable remediation and effective evaluation strategies are imperative.

This Special Issue, titled “Innovative Remediation Strategies and Analytical Techniques for Quantifying and Identifying Nano-Pollutants in the Environment”, seeks high-quality works focusing on nano-pollutants in the environment, covering but not limited to the following topics:

All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process.
