Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a transformative technology, reshaping industries and driving innovation across diverse domains. With its ability to analyze vast datasets, uncover patterns, and optimize complex processes, AI has become a cornerstone for improving efficiency, reducing costs, and enabling groundbreaking advancements. As organizations strive to remain competitive in an increasingly digital world, the integration of AI in process innovation and optimization is no longer optional but essential.

This Special Issue on “Artificial Intelligence in Process Innovation and Optimization” seeks high-quality research contributions that explore the application of AI techniques to enhance process efficiency, innovation, and decision-making across various industries. The focus is on cutting-edge methodologies, frameworks, and case studies that demonstrate the transformative potential of AI in process improvement and optimization.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • AI-driven process optimization techniques;
  • Machine learning applications in industrial processes;
  • AI for supply chain and logistics optimization;
  • Intelligent decision-making systems;
  • Process automation using AI and robotics;
  • Predictive analytics for process innovation;
  • AI in manufacturing and production systems;
  • Digital twins and AI for process simulation;
  • AI in energy efficiency and sustainability;
  • Ethical considerations in AI-driven process innovation.

We invite researchers, practitioners, and industry experts to contribute original research articles, review papers, and case studies that align with the theme of this Special Issue.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Processes is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.

Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2400 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
