Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The association between dietary intake and cancer risk is a significant yet complicated field of cancer research, with around 40% of cancers associated with modifiable lifestyle factors, among which diet is fundamental. Worldwide, 25% of cancer cases could be prevented through dietary modifications, highlighting nutrition's significance as a cost-effective and accessible approach to alleviating the cancer burden. Despite these insights, the role of diet in cancer research still faces several challenges, including the complex interplay between nutrients and cancer development. Currently, advancements in research methodologies in the field of diet and cancer could provide the basis for integrating population-level findings into individualized cancer preventative strategies through dietary modification. This Special Issue, Dietary Intake and Cancer Risk, is designed to gather further evidence and set the scene for prospects on the role of diet in cancer risk and the prevention of cancer. This Special Issue welcomes original articles and systematic reviews based on observational and/or intervention research that investigates food, nutrition, and diet-related behaviors in relation to the evaluation of cancer development and progression, as well as cancer prevention policies.
