Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Nutritional intervention is a cornerstone in managing gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), aiming to regulate blood sugar levels and promote healthy pregnancy outcomes. It focuses on individualized dietary plans tailored to the woman's specific needs, emphasizing balanced macronutrient distribution—particularly focusing on carbohydrate intake—and promoting overall healthy eating habits. However, there is still open debate in the literature regarding the optimal energy requirements, appropriate carbohydrate consumption, and recommended weight gain during pregnancy. The aim of this Special Issue is thus to focus on the points of debate and on the importance of a holistic approach, emphasizing the notion of ’chrononutrition’.

Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process.
