Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

We invite you to contribute to a Special Issue dedicated to exploring the pivotal role of precision nutrition in the prevention, management, and treatment of breast cancer. With breast cancer remaining a leading cause of cancer-related morbidity and mortality worldwide, there is a growing need to develop targeted nutritional strategies that complement conventional therapies and address individual variability in genetics, metabolism, and lifestyle.

This Special Issue seeks to highlight advances in personalized dietary interventions, nutrigenomics, nutritional biomarkers, gut microbiome and metabolomics-driven approaches that can enhance prevention strategies, improve treatment outcomes, and reduce the risk of recurrence. We encourage submissions that address how nutritional science can be tailored to specific subtypes of breast cancer, hormonal status, and patient profiles across diverse populations.

The scope of this Special Issue includes, but is not limited to, the following topics:

  • Nutrigenomics and nutrigenetics in breast cancer susceptibility and progression;
  • Dietary modulation of the tumor microenvironment;
  • Role of specific nutrients, phytochemicals, and dietary patterns in breast cancer prevention;
  • Interactions between diet, the gut microbiome, and immune response in breast cancer patients;
  • Precision nutrition in survivorship and quality of life improvement;
  • Clinical trials and translational studies on nutritional interventions;
  • Nutrition-guided management of treatment side effects;
  • Integrating digital tools and AI for personalized dietary planning in oncology.

We welcome the submission of original research articles, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and translational perspectives that bridge the gap between molecular nutrition science and clinical oncology. This is in order to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and develop targeted, individualized nutritional interventions for breast cancer care.

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for announcement on this website.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Nutrients is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
