Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The development of multifunctional coordination compounds continues to be a major focus of contemporary chemical research due to their structural versatility and broad spectrum of applications. Among these materials, metal coordination compounds have attracted significant attention because of their facile synthesis, tunable coordination behavior and remarkable physicochemical and biological properties.
Over the last two decades, rapid progress in coordination chemistry has offered tailored solutions for complex industrial challenges. For instance, metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) are widely utilized for gas storage and chemical sensing. Although this field is mature, challenges remain in developing scalable, non-toxic and sustainable synthetic methodologies.
This Special Issue will address novel synthetic routes, structural characterization ligand design, catalytic mechanisms, biological evaluation and functional materials, gathering contributions from coordination chemists, material scientists and process engineers.

Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Molecules is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.

Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
