Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
The advancement of high-efficiency organic optoelectronic materials and molecular photovoltaic devices, including dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs), relies fundamentally on the rational design of molecular components. Coordination chemistry provides significant versatility for synthesizing novel metal complexes and organic systems with tunable electronic properties. This Special Issue aims to serve as an interdisciplinary platform for examining the synergy between experimental characterization and advanced computational chemistry and molecular modeling techniques. Theoretical studies using density functional theory (DFT) and time-dependent DFT (TD-DFT) to predict electronic structures, optical absorption spectra, excited-state dynamics, and interfacial charge transfer mechanisms in photoactive devices are particularly encouraged. Researchers are invited to submit original research articles, communications, and reviews that contribute to the discovery of advanced materials and the optimization of emerging photovoltaic systems.

Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Molecules is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
