Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Molecular toxicology is a multidisciplinary field that explores the interactions between chemical substances and biological systems at the molecular level. These chemical entities, including environmental pollutants, natural products, synthetic compounds, and pharmaceuticals, play crucial roles in both the pathogenesis and treatment of various diseases. Understanding their toxicological profiles, mechanisms of action, and biological responses is essential for advancing human health. In recent years, the integration of molecular toxicology with applied pharmacology has opened new avenues for drug discovery, safety evaluation, and therapeutic optimization. Applied pharmacology focuses on translating molecular insights into practical applications, including drug development, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and precision medicine. Therefore, investigating the dual roles of chemical molecules in toxicity and therapeutic efficacy is of growing importance. This Special Issue aims to highlight recent advances in molecular toxicology and its applications in pharmacology. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: mechanisms of toxicity, drug safety assessment, target identification, biomarker discovery, pharmacological interventions, molecular diagnosis, and the development of novel therapeutic agents. Studies focusing on the interplay between toxicity and efficacy, as well as strategies to minimize adverse effects while maximizing therapeutic outcomes, are particularly encouraged. Both experimental and theoretical studies are welcome, including in vitro and in vivo research, in silico modeling, computational toxicology, QSAR, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and bioinformatics approaches. High-quality review articles that provide comprehensive insights into emerging trends are also encouraged. We sincerely invite researchers worldwide to contribute original research and reviews to this Special Issue. By bringing together diverse perspectives, we aim to promote interdisciplinary collaboration and advance the fields of molecular toxicology and applied pharmacology.

Manuscript Submission Information
Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page. Molecules is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
Please visit the Instructions for Authors page before submitting a manuscript. The Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication in this open access journal is 2700 CHF (Swiss Francs). Submitted papers should be well formatted and use good English. Authors may use MDPI's English editing service prior to publication or during author revisions.
