Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

Covalent Adaptive Networks (CANs) are cross-linked polymers that incorporate dynamic covalent bonds, which endow them with the mechanical robustness of thermosets while preserving the reprocessability and recyclability characteristic of thermoplastics. Due to their exceptional stability and stimulus-responsive reconfigurability, CANs have emerged as a promising solution to pressing environmental challenges.

This Special Issue, entitled “Advances in Polymer Recycling Technologies”, will serve as a distinctive international forum for researchers engaged in CAN-related research to disseminate their latest achievements. Contributions are welcome in areas including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Development of new dynamic covalent bonds and reaction mechanisms;
  • Strategies for enhancing bond-exchange kinetics and material durability;
  • Innovative recycling and upcycling approaches for CAN-based systems;
  • Fundamental understanding of network topology and dynamic behavior;
  • Computational design and predictive modeling for CAN performance;
  • Advanced applications exploiting the unique reconfigurability of CANs.

We look forward to receiving your contributions to advancing both the scientific understanding and technological implementation of these versatile and sustainable polymer systems

Manuscript Submission Information

Manuscripts should be submitted online at www.mdpi.com by registering and logging in to this website. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 250 words) can be sent to the Editorial Office for assessment.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. Materials is an international peer-reviewed open access semimonthly journal published by MDPI.
