Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) is an important tool for studying natural products and food systems. It exploits the differences in the electromagnetic effects of different atomic nuclei in a magnetic field, thereby providing information on the chemical structure and dynamics of components in natural products and food, regardless of whether these components are in a pure compound or a mixture state.
This Special Issue aims to present and disseminate the most recent advances related to NMR methodology in natural product and food chemistry. We invite contributions addressing approaches of employing NMR to tackle scientific and applied issues in natural products and food systems, particularly by extracting structural, interactional, and dynamic information from natural products and food systems. Additionally, contributions on pure compounds from natural products and food, whose structures and dynamics information elude conventional resolution methods are also encouraged.
Topics of interest for publication include, but are not limited to:
- Novel NMR methods are applied to natural product and food systems;
- Novel and advantageous applications of NMR methods in natural product and food systems;
- Application of NMR to the screening of bioactive constituents or the monitoring of molecular interactions in natural product and food systems;
- The use of NMR technology for addressing regulatory issues in natural products and foods—including quality control, adulteration detection, and monitoring of harmful substances;
- NMR is combined with other techniques for the characterization of natural product and food systems, providing information on structure, interactions, and dynamics;
- NMR-based dereplication or rapid discovery of new structures from natural products mixture;
- Heteronuclear(such as 31P, 15N, etc.) NMR detection provides useful information in natural products or food systems., etc.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-anonymized peer-review process. Magnetochemistry is an international peer-reviewed open access monthly journal published by MDPI.
